choral presentation rehearsal

well then. ended school right after chem tutorial- that was like 10+ when the official dismissal was like at 11.35am. hahaha. got break wat- wat you wan me to do? hahaha. and so i slacked my time away- idling it away in a sense. yepps. just slacker me- being myself on a real bad day. yepps.

went for choral presentation rehearsal lahx- tt's why school ended so early for me. hahaha. went to esplanade- and oh! yawen was bitching to me about the fact that the chinese orchestra presentation was held at SCH and not at esplanade. hahaha. too bad lahx. maybe more ppl wanna watch choirs sing. yepps. jsut a maybe only. ahahhaa.

so anyway, went there; we were the first [tell me about being efficient man!], and sorta waited for the other schools to arrive. i think hcjc was next, then the other 3 sec schools namely fairfield methodist sec sch, cedar girls sec, and vs lahx. hahaha. today was the only day we could hear the performing choirs sing, cause on the actual day itself, once we're done singing we go back and grab our stuff and yea go home [tell me about having no life dude!] hahaha. thank goodness we're the last choir to give the whole thing the final bang! hjahaha. so fun fun fun...

fairfield performed first. i thot they were a girls school lahx- so naturally i kena stunned when i saw guys. but frankly, they lived up to their name lahx, their reputation of being a consistent choir. yepps. i think they've won numerous accolades before this yr's gold with honours. yepps. their songs were pretty alright- nice, light hearted and entertaining. definitely. the thing that caught my ear [got such expression huh?] was the first song, ave maris stella. really really really nice and soothing and haunting and really really good. they were good.

cedar went next. i was sitting in front of them at first, their first song was super airy. but subsequently when i sat at the back and heard them, they were pretty good. this happened later like the second or third song le. so i reckon they were not very warmed up yet. yepps. but their sound was "very controlled' to borrow from marucs's words. yepps. nice slow songs.

vs was next. my gosh- they were definitely disappointing. they sang pok pok, some french medley from les choristes, and spirited away medley. the french song was horrid. sounded absolutely like a lao za bo. hahaha. serious. very mellow and dark. but i carnt blame them. half of the choir didn't learn it, and the song's sung in SSA. so for a SATB choir to sing SSA, well i carnt say much. obviously they'd suck at it. any-o-how, their spirited away was not too bad, at least it was up to concert standard. yepps. then again, its a concert song. then they sang pok pok. it was really really good. the first part was well controlled, not really rushing, clean and packed with energy. btu the malalala part ah... hahaha. a bit the wrong. hahaha. but good try.

hcjc was next. they really live up to their golds garnered at the olympics lohx. must really respect and learn from them. loved their 'night', though i felt a bit of the magical lustre was lost. bin-nam-ma never failed to impress me for the 3rd time. elijah rock was beautiful. the other 2 songs- argh, nice but i guess its forgettable. ahhaha. but they were really good. RESPECT!

i shant comment on vjc. but i must say it was a good ATTEMPT. not our best, but it was a good attempt. that was wat i felt. we could have and i believe we WILL do much better on the actual day. yepps.

soooooooooooooo fun!
