the power of music- vjchoir; love

(sound) thunderous applaud filled the hall
-as the orchestra stood to receive the compliments
time stood still for things to fall into place.
gravity took the situation by hand and led it in;
down
down
down
it sank, set within the darkness of the night.
and as the stage lights dimmed upon the platform,
the chances of music-making dimminshed slowly.
trudging along the dark corridors of the backstage
the silence ebbed into my spirit; my soul.
dragging the load along as i walked,
sounds of laughter filled the air
euphoria.
ah- that's what that is.
boy,
am i so gonna miss that.
thoughts vanished when we met back in that secret place
the place called heaven- cool, refreshing, final.
we stood in formation as the clouds rose among us,
chords rang in unison as memories pelted my mind.
it flooded me. drowned my senses. filled my entire being.
3:three, that was the magic number for that night.
the anthem rang as tsunami memories rained down.
the emo-wall shielded my eyes from pouring;
i just had to be strong.
the atmosphere of hugs of love and whispers of good wishes
made it impossible for the floodgates to remain shut
- it burst forth.

cmb- rawr

just went for my ns checkup today, and hmmm... its not that bad lahx. actually, it was alright. there wasn't like anything funny that happened and neither was there any HUGE hiccups that made me sleep on the way. well, its partially because i was like the first at all stations, so errr, like naturally would be one of the first to leave for the day? haha. it was alright lahx. hmmm. just that when you get there, totally like some blindman like that. dunno where to go and what to do also. sianded. ahhaa. okayy, so you want a full account here it is:

went to cmb (central manpower base) at 7.45am. madness right? well, that's cause i woke up at 6am and propabably left house at 6.30am. went breakfasting and thanks to the pain in my back teeth due to my braces, i left pasir ris in a taxi at round 7.10am. and oh ya! if you're coming from pasir ris, don't bother taking a cab to cmb. cause the entire journey time is around 30mins and mind you that does not include waiting time. rawr. so i was one of the seemingly cuckoos there when i reached. ahha. i also made the driver go in and well malu himself. haha. cause cannot go in wat, so the dunno how many soldiers on duty came and told him to make a U-turn and come out. rawr. totaly cab fare was exhorbitantly high at $21. my gosh. here's where my diet comes in REAL handy. haha.

so waited at the errr... waiting area? for about 10mins, then went to register. got myself a pink form, (realised how polite i actaully was- all the other guys ahead of me didn't even say thank you when they got themselveves the pink slip.. haha) and no, a pink slip doesn't mean you're pregnant or have some wierd disease, its just a normal form. haha. so useless that last sentence. anyway, went to take a photo for some ns card, and mind you. of all the people in the room, i wore the smallest size. well at least that was what the man said. he took the uniform off the rack explained to use the know-hows when you take a photo (like HUH?) then said "this boy can wear size 3 which is the smallest size..." after which, handed me the thing, then said "you ready? come sit there" thanks. take photo, then okay liaox lohx. the photo of me was actually quite good lohx. so... yay. haha.

then went in to register AGAIN. this time for dunno wat. ahha. i was actually attended by this dunno-what-he-was-doing army guy, until another woman came by. recall recall recall: friends told me she was some bitch, but to me, she didn't really piss me off. if not i'd probably head0butt her. haha. then again, she got cushioning in front, so maybe not that impactful. ahaha. mad. anyway, taht man really dunno what he was doing lohx. go there, read instructions then errr.. "excuse me wat am i supposed to do?" ya. i asked that lohx. then he also sor-sor wan dunno asked me to take out all documents. then that's where the woman came. then instruct him to do things. after a while, it got pretty amusing to see a full-time national serviceman donning the dark greeen uniform to be literally pushed around by some woman donning, well commoner clothes as they like to call it. (for some reason, why can't they call it home clothes? must be special lahx) *roll eyes* then i was ushered, literally to sit down. haha. and wait. didn't wait long, then they called my name. went straight to the ent station.

damn funny. first thing they do there: on the chair, you'd find instructions; read it and then wait. being the first to reach, didn't even wait for 5mins then ask me to go in. haha. put on the headphones and wait for sound. damn scared cannot hear sia. ahah. then instead of say a piano's monotone play, the sound was some alien-atic music. haha. no meaning. can hear, thne put up the hand on the same side as where you hear the sound in the ear. haha. damn funny. they play the music then look at you, then you raise your hands. haha. the people outside (thank God, not much) look at you and think you're spastic or something. ahha. that was done, then went eye station.

i think i failed this station. even with lenses on, cannot read the third last line of the set of letters. ahha. so enough said, cannot be in medics already. later anyhow poke poke here and there. patient come to me alive, go out pronounced dead. haha. dun wannnn... ahha.

went for x-ray next. no gay guy there wat. ahha. it was just some guy who spoke quite wierdly. hmm, come to think of it he was damn gentle with me when he held my arms and asked me to stand close to the machine. hmmm... maybe he is. haha. still ask me to relax. and then i stood there like cuckoo again. dunno when it ended. casue there was no loud thumoing sound when the photograph (well, technically it is right?) was taken. okay lohx. then go straight for blood test. thanks.

the blood test station was combined with the urine test so when i got there, i was yet again first. haha. the guy before me at the x-ray station was sent for dental first i guess, but nevertheless i was first at the urine test. haha. went there then they just said take one bottle and one stick go to toilet and read the instructions there. it was funny i guess, cause i was the first there, then when i went into the toilet, somehow couldn't find the instructions. eventually i did, without anybody's help if not it'd be damn malu lahx. haha. so did it, threw the urine away then went out, showed the stick to the officer who was dunno why scared of the stick, then threw it away. that dustbin must be awfully disgusting. ahha. after which, stayed there for a while cause i havent taken my file back wat. haha. and so, after waiting for bout 5mins, i realised that i was also at the blood test station. and mind you they dunno why have to poke me twice with needles. haha. first time was a small one at hte tip of my middle finger. haha. first time i see myself bleed so much. haha. cause they squeezed your finger when the blood oozed out? haha. then as they squeezed, they used some capillary tube to contain the blood. make my finger look so bloody lohx. i went back to my seat with a bloodied finger, probably scaring the shit out of the people who were waiting for their turn. once again, waited pressing the cotton bud while i wait (the blodd sill didn't stop), until my name was called out from the room. thanks. my moment now. went in, amazingly not fearing anything. saw the needle and still no fear. then when they poked it in, of course i looked away lahx. then after that no pain. then i even had the courage to look back at the syringe left in my hand, then saw that the officer placed another piece of swab over the point of insertion (i still remembered i wondered what in the world he did that for), then mercilessly pulled the entire syringe out while holding onto the piston. inventive way of drawing blood i must say. quick and painful. haha. lucky never scream. haha. if not will be damn malu. ahha. anyway, that was done.

went to second last station which was the dental station. waited again. then tunderwent the station. nothing much. all healthy gums and teeth. the normal. nothing lahx.
went to last station. take heartbeat and pressure and height and weight. nothing much. just that it got pretty irritating cause all the medical officers there were undergoing training. so the professionals had to explain like mad until i think even i can work the machine lohx. haha. damn funny. nothing much. and oh, the coughing station is also here. haha. damn funny.

last station: the mental tests. ahha. i think i failed the maths section. haha. never finish. ahha. dunno why cannot calculate. ask me percentage error lehx. crapizoid. hahaha. but proud to say i think i passed the physics section damn well. and oh, the rotation section also damn infuriating. halfway, i forgot the instructions. so was pretty much fumbling with the thing. but finished it nevertheless. actually the tests were not tiring lahx. just damn sianded. really. finished it and left. did a short questionaire, and well left not just medical centre...

... but cmb for good. well at least for the day.

haha.

celebrating day of youths with S43

sink your feet into the sands
and feel yourself falling;
let mother save you
from your dire state.

gaze into the horizon
and see the limitless;
let mother soothe you
from your aches.

zoom past the trees
and feel the wind blow;
let mother satisfy you
with her love.

cycling at the park with S43 was just simply great. the time spent together and the fun we had- oooh, just so memorable. cycling past sea sports club, sailing centre, all the way to the end of the road; then turning back and finally eating at the lagoon, feasting on the seafood_ sinful lil' creatures. and so i've decided on a low fat/ low carb/ low calorie diet. training for napfa and also for healthiness, training for army starts now. and i'm starting it real hard.

` a prayer of thanks for seventeenth

Deep within the wells of my soul
let this prayer reach up to your throne;
These words are full of thanks
for truly O Lord, i am completely blessed.

This past one year of living seventeenth
have made me learn special things;
Things that make me grow in truth
but more importantly, more in you.

You have seen past all my faults
my sins, my pain and my distraughts.
Pulling me through in the end
O my God, how now i understand.

For Your unfailing love has seen me through
and showered me with blessings,oh so true;
What more can i say that will explain how i feel
for this love i receive is just so surreal.

So here it goes, in the best i know how
thank you God for sustaining me till now;
May my years be blessed and better ahead
as i serve you and bless you, all of my days.

TO GOD BE THE GLORY
FOREVER AND EVER
AMEN

so this wat physics spa skill a teaches us.

let x be the height from the ground
to the base of the bag carried on back of subject

let y be the age of the subject.

assuming the relation of lg y= lg x + a
where a is a constant

(insert table and graph here)

since the graph of lg x plotted against lg y is a straight line
the assumed relation is proven true.

*based on observational evidence at a concert..

life thus far

life began when you were formed
deep down in dear mum's womb
you never knew what how life was
under out you came out really soon.

and so it all began, when you
entered playschool or kindergarden
as some people affectinately call it,
you soon realised the true meaning of
-yes, freedom.

you then moved on to primary school
where you thought failing spelling was fine and
subsequently took your final exams six years later;
but you never knew that you would take
a similar major exam -an ordinary one,
only that this time round, its difficulter.

the time when your entire world runs wild,
with fantasies and imaginations all undesired,
it finally came with much hype and hip!
- things started spilling underneath the sheets
and hair was growing in all the wrong places,
life seriously couldn't get worse than that...
but then again, can it?

and so after that HUGE revelation which probably killed you,
you rose like a phoenix, all glorious and marvellous
and beat all odds to get your tail feathers into college.
my oh my. this time round, things get rather DIRTY and MESSY.
secrets of victoria starts spreading through the school
with mixed reactions from those who have caught the wave.
PLUS all the coping with college work and relationships
you're gonna get stressed. inevitably.

while the future may seem uncertain for some people
one thing's definitely for sure regardless of all.
to get this far in life you must have been a conqueror
and for heaven's sake, get your spelling wright
dear.

life as an eighteen year old sure is tough
ain't it?

snowy's day operation.

it pains me deep inside
to see you in this state.
the sunken eyes which
only tell me pain is more
than my heart can bear.
i rubbed your head and
carressed your bosom
and i know that was
probably all you asked for;
i want to give you more
but you need rest;
just lie there my dear
and stay still there.

i will come to you.
because i really care.

momentum...

using p = mv - e
where m is small
and v is small
because distance is very big
and time taken to cover distance is VERY big
and e to be external influences which is reaching infinity.

therefore momentum, p is small
and hence darren cannot do any work.

i need to get my momentum back.
seriously.

listen to this:

beauty fruit juices for your face
the "Atomic Face Lift" being sold at $4.50

i had the wildest imagination of the entire face being lifted off the err.. face at speed of light or something. well, something like an ATOMIC bomb blast or something.

like that would revitalise your face.

didn't feel very accomplished today.
tommorrow will be a better day.

i really must be going bonkers

and so i stood on the mezzanine, looking down on the first floor and what caught my eye was a man holding a kid of not more than ten years old in one hand and the other pulling a PRAM. he walked at least 20 metres away from the library where he came from and suddenly stopped in his tracks. the boy looked up in wonder and with some thought, or at least i thought he did, the man walked back towards the library.

conclusion: the man forgot the baby.
studying underway.
do not disturb.

english of science

fellow science faculty members out there, hear me out and distinguish for yourself whether this is true. it dawned upon me while i was studying for physics about the english of science. haha. i must be mad.

this is my theory.

biologists use simple english words especially non-specific chemical terms. maybe they're being slack in the orientation of the chemical molecules but if you had even realised, they normally don't state the full chemical name for the reagents they use thus not allowing you to know the full structure of the molecule. well then again, i don't take biology, so i'll leave it as it is. *i realised this during biochemistry lecture- and its something the chemistry lecturer mentioned*

chemists on the other hand, use really simple childish terms such as "electrophilic ATTACK" or "COLD BATHS to QUENCH the reactions". i came to conclusion (just) that maybe the concepts of chemistry may not be as apparent to the human eye as compared to say mathematics or physics where experiments can be carried and results can prove your point. to prove your point in chemistry, you probably would have to draw imaginative figures to help you visualise, not even to prove. so that's that. once again, this was something not devised by me but rather by my physics tutor who somehow questioned us whether the word "attack" was appropriate in chemistry when we asked him questions pertaining to how the neutrons BOMBARD some radioactive elements in nuclear physics class.

physicists on the other hand use really really long BOMBARSTIC terms such as "SUPERPOSITION" and sometimes even twist the proper english definitions for some of the terms such as "MOMENTS". maybe it's because physics, of the three mentioned here, have experiments that can prove your point easily. for example, just let two pendulum oscillate and there you have it. you have proven the point of driving frequency. maybe its becauase of the simplicity of matters that allows the human mind and eye to see it for yourself that allows physicists to use a bit more bombarstic terms. hmmm.

hahah. all that's mentioned is what i've gathered from my years so far in college with no prior experience to university life and its various courses, i have no idea if they still apply then. haha.

i must be going bonkers from
mugging.

mugging in courier

well then. i kinda like this font now. i don't know why. but somehow, when i type this out with this font, it makes me feel formal. haha. i dunno. rar.

mugging still in progress.

what a great way to end the semester- what a bang! haha. and so, the soccer season ended today with the finals at jalan besar stadium, with vjc and mjc competing for the champions trophy. hahaha. wheeee... i shall TRY to be a nice commentator.
WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!

so when the game was kicked off, mjc started off pretty fast by finding the goal within minutes of the first half. fortunately, they couldn't bring the ball in. hahah. but nevertheless, they fought hard amidst the strong support from the vjc supporters and the vjc soccer boys defence, we were down 1-0 in favour of mjc. and then in the second half, woah- this was where all the action began. we found ourselves tied at 1-1 when we scored the equaliser during the first few minutes of the second half. but then again, undying mjc scored yet another goal against us bringing the score now to 2-1 in favour of the opposition. hahaha. and just when you thought we would lose and all, considering that it was already in the last 10 minutes of the game, the never-say-die victorians both in the stands and on the pitch came back and won the equaliser upping the score to a tie of 2-2. then a cross from the left flank put us up 3-2. and the final goal of the night was one by us and final score 4-2 in favour of vjc!

WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!

but neverthelss, we still have to [frankly] thank mjc for their fight they put up agaisnt us. without them, we really wouldn't be champions. haha. jkjk. but then again, if there was ever a oscar or an emmy for this entire match, the best drama would go to mjc. i mean, time and time again, you would always see a few people lying on the ground, probably moaning and shrieking, putting on that seemingly-orgasmic look which was supposed to be painful. GET A LIFE MAN! at one instance, i recall there were two mjc soccer players rolling on the ground. wth. where got such thing? haha. no meaning lahx. and also those who feigned pain, all of them deserve the best actor award. there was one who totally fell down when there was no one near him, then rolled all around expecting someone to come see his seemingly pitiful state. in the end when no one saw, he got up and started walking. but while he was lying there, his coach was signalling to the referee bout him. and by the time the referee saw, he was already walking. within seconds, he was on the floor again. rofl. and in case you're wondering, i'm laughing not at the actions but rather the attitude. well, at least the team with a better attitude won.

WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!

Wednesday, May 24, 2006

and so the afternoon started with a heavy heart chained and bound to the bus going to delta when in fact it was going to ite dover. bah. supposed to have joined the rest of the school to support our both hockey teams in their respecxtive finals, but in the end i ended up at ite dover for some world hr congress rehearsal thing. GAH. was pretty irritated with it, but i guess i shall just plainly attribute that to my fatigue and heavy heart of not being able to support the hockey teams. but here are the reeeeesults!

[CHAMPIONS] hockey girls: vjc beat sajc 1-0
[SECOND] hockey boys: vjc lost to rjc 2-0
[THIRD] badminton girls: vjc beat ? 3-1
[CHAMPIONS]soccer girls: vjc beat tjc 3-0
haha. a BIG WELL DONE to all our teams today! know you guys slogged it out real hard in the final leg of your season and yeah- the results are in! haha. as a member of the choir, i guess we can all relate to one another the feeling of being champions in our own rights huh? the feeling of achievement even when we've lost to a worthy opponent. once again ` WELL DONE `
and so, i was going back home and since i live so near to so many thousands schools, i naturally hear people talking bout stuff and all lahx. but one particular comment was made purposely i think. maybe because i was alone and they were in a group of about 4-5 people? hmmm.. all i can say is it doesn't mean that by sending your whole school down and taking up the entire stadium, you guys will win. even if our population can't be in the stadium, we would be outside cheering them on because we have something that probably you guys don't have for ALL teams (including performance groups, sports, academic teams, leadership). and that my FRIENDS is SPIRIT.
all the best tomorrow soccer boys! do what you guys do best- go out there and make soccer real and alive! we'll all be rooting for you!
May the Lord Bless You and Keep You.

how nice..

well done tennis girsl in coming in as champions of 2005/06! it must have been one hell of a ride through this season huh and not to mention the tough competition faced today! heard the score was 3-2! haha. well done! haha. thanks for believing that not all the medals and championship titles should go to one person. that'd be selfish ain't it?

ahh- i love vjc.

on another note, i've been really really tired out these few days and though in the mornings i may seem all cheery and all, talking cock like mad like that, wah lau eh~ come afternoon/ evening totally wanna plonk on the bed and sleep lahx! haha. madness. and so it all started on sov eve- staying up late to do the card for chorale. then the nights after that were spent catching up on tutoirals and copying of lecture notes. ha. so today i was so tired, i just fell asleep in the library; so happy. my first time sleeping so shuang-ly in library. haha. those photo soc guys better not take photos of me. need money wan hor! haha.

gah. i'm reminded that common tests are coming and there's that hr congress rehearsal tomorrow which nicely coincides with the hockey girls and boys finals at delta as well as the soccer girls finals at jalan besar. ARGH! *screams and waves flabby arms frantically in air* i waaaaannnnnnaaaaaa go support hockey! `blah!
i guess that's all for now. watch out for tml's entry on the results..
wheeee..

not feeling very well these few days.
and yes i'm referring to my total being.

a summary of my two days

okayy, i figure this would be quite long cause things happened from yesterday. haha.

so we were released from lessons at 11+ yesterday so that we could go down to toa payoh to support the basktball girls in theirs finals against rjc. so by the time we reached there, there was like a huge entourage of vjc people till we took the entire half of the stadium. ahha. rjc only took the centre of their half and more. still not as much as us. hahah. hmmm, maybe not so many went down because of lessons or something so i shan't comment much bout their supporters. ahah. but the match alone was the actual limelight. in fact it was more than that, it was the THING. haha. the match started off well in favour of vjc, and in fact we were leading for the next three quarters. how nice. but then again, though we were leading, rjc was nonetheless just behind us by around 2-4 points. scary huh? i can imagine the amount of stress of the players on court lahx. i mean the supporters maybe up there supporting you whenever your team gets control of the game or when you score the point, but there's always the unmentioned pressure from them that can really drive you nuts. ha. i'm not some pro sportsman in the professional circuit but i can sorta understand by being a performer on stage. that aside. in the last quarter with vjc leading by if i recall correctly 2 points, rjc slowly caught up with us and scored 10points within the last minute. in fact, if i recall correctly again, they score a majority from penalties. i guess our girls must be getting quite jittery for them to get all gropey and all thus giving our opponents the chance to score through penalties. ha. i dun really know much of the terminologies ya? ha. but in the end the score was 57-47, we lost.

but with dignity.

and that's what i really love bout vjc. we fight our hearts and guts out on the court/ pitch/ pool/ stage and even though we lose, we know that deep within our hearts the line NIL SONE LABORE is clearly imprinted in our memories. love it absolutely. and on top of that, i also take pride in our basketball girls' results, and from the clappings and wheeing from the vjc supporters at the end of the game, i believe everybody felt the same way. and that's what i really enjoy of vjc too- the taking pride of all our teams be it in sports or academic or cultural groups. when you take on our team, you take on the whole school. we enjoy the glory together and in the same way no less, we share the loss together. it's been a great game basketball girls! and though we may have lost, deep in our hearts well at least in mine, you guys rocked toa payoh stadium yesterday and to me you guys deserved champions. well done.

to all of our teams out in the finals such as the soccer boys and hockey boys and girls- all the best and may the Victorian Spirit burn within you during the match! all the best!

ha. we'll leave that to that. after the match, i went back to school by the bus that school provided and went straight to the choir room. being unable to find someone to go home with or for that matter to walk out of school with me, i studied in the choir room with edwin. after he left, i cleaned the choir room knowing that tenors have to clean it up. ha. so i helped them do their job. haha. whatever. but since then, i was feeling really really tired and all. gah. called darel and went back with him to bedok where eventually he took a bus home. i on the other hand took the same bus back to parkway because i thought i had time to go back to pasir ris but in the end i didn't. so ya, was time well spent with darel- all that bitching; ha. so i went back to parkway to mett kh and elias for guitar concert.

guitar concert was not too bad lahx. frankly, i didn't know what to expect of the concert, but overall it was quite enjoyable especially that bossa nova song and the daniel band. haha. damn, you guys seriously rock. it was really really good. haha. well done guitar ensemble. it was a good eye opener. lolx.

it was a great 2 days and just came back from choir prac of which we're going to perform for the world hr congress on 30may and the sco performance thing too. so ya. catch us then ya? ha. hmmm. alrights i better be on my way to church already. ms is gonna get real exciting!

9millionbicycles- katie melua

There are nine million bicycles in Beijing
That's a fact
It's a thing we can't deny
Like the fact that I will love you till I die
We are twelve billion light years from the edge
That's a guess
No-one can ever say it's true
But I know that I will always be with you
I'm warmed by the fire of your love everyday
So don't call me a liar
Just believe everything that I say
There are six billion people in the world
More or less
And it makes me feel quite small
But you're the one I love the most of all
We're high on the wire
With the world in our sight
And I'll never tire
Of the love that you give me every night
There are nine million bicycles in Beijing
That's a fact
It's a thing we can't deny
Like the fact that I will love you till I die
And there are nine million bicycles in Beijing
And you know that I will love you till I die

SOV part 1

SOV'06 WAS A BLAST!
hahaha. seriously it was a darn good show. hmmm, shan't say much NOW, considering that i may be some bias source, so people won't really read this entry.. but to me, we were spectacular on stage and off stage, memorable. haha. and for that i just wanna take this oppurtunity to make it public my heartfelt thanks to those who have helped make this concert a huge success (in my opinion, of course. unless verified by other blogs, hahaha)

1. God.

without Him, i would serious have achieved nothing in life, let alone get into this premier instituition and this prestigious choir. so above all else, i really must thank Him for even allowing me to enter vjchoir in the first place. and ya, of course to Him be all praise as we sang songs from our concert repertoire. amazing presence of the Spirit made all things possible!

2. vjchoir

though these one and a half years with my fellow year twos, we're really gone through so much and i guess singing songs from our once thought of cheap-skate pcc being performed at sov, it really means something to me. we're gone through the good and the bad times, and today we are who we are because of sheer hard work. we truly are the epitome of what nil sine labore stands for. and for my dear year one juniors, thanks for the memories as we prepared for not just sov but also for the italy trip. every meal we had together, every bitching session and even every tease and joke passed were all memorable. thanks for all of them. all thanks to everybody with no one unique in particular, who has ardously cooperated witht he musico and the exco in order to bring this choir to where she is today.

3. mr kwei

all his unwavering and dedicated support for us in not just the musical arena but also the administrative domain ahve proven to be valuable lessons for us to learn from. without his interpretation and direction set for the choir, we would not have achieved what the choir has achieved today- olympics champions and grand prize winner. and besides, i've been singing in his choirs since secondary one, so for not just this year and the previous years, but also for the other 4 years in vschoir (obviously more for my years in vjc), thank you sir for your dedication to this choir and all that you've done for us. thanks.

i shall post more soon. haha.

napfa

wow. to think i left the house with such a nervous heart, knowing that the next time i step into my room or even into my house for that matter, i'd have completed my napfa test. haha. and lo and behold, i'll be going home preeetty soon. ahah. just stayed back in school to settle the choreo for bridge till 9pm. haha. wth right/ but considering that concert's next week and choreo is madness, well we have to do something right/ haha. vjchoir rox!

haha. hmm, now back to napfa.

hmmm. i passed everything but failed sbj again. well, the past does not equal to the future so ya, gonna retake it next week. but next week i do like sbj first. if fail, then i straightaway go play games le. no point stay and finish the rest of the test. haha. heck. wth. haha. hmmm, i pass everything like at least a D and above to secure me a nice silver grade. then again come to think about it, i actually got a gold? hahah. carnt remember alr. crap.

for those who have been praying for me such as david, rachel, lynn, my cell and those out there whom i have not mentioned, well, thanks.

to God be the glory forever and ever.

i might go down to the hospital these few days just to check up on my heart and lungs area. have been experiencing heart and chest tightness these few days, actually since italy alr. hmmm. see how lahx. one more time, and i'm quite sure i'm gng to the docs. ahha. see how first lahx.

still, to God be the glory forever and ever.

amen.

home alone

woots! have been staying at my aunt's place for coming to one day already, and what's really cool is that there's no one here! wheee. so i've really been staying by myself for the past day and it was a cool experience lahx. what i find really cool about it was that it really gave me a glimpse of what staying at home by yourself is really like. i mean it obviously doesn't really give me a full picture of what staying at home alone is cause i don't have to clean the house whatsoever but its still an experience. ahaha.

quite fun lahx. haha. i mean you dont really have to account to anybody about whatever you do at home and all, and basically you can do anything at home lahx. haha. on top of that fact that it kinda got boring after a while cause i didn't go out at all today, it was quite an experience. and i figured that if i were to live by myself in the future, i wouldn't be staying at home the whole day in the first place, but this experience gave me much insight to what staying at home through the day is like. and still, i cannot fathom how others want to stay home during the weekends or hols. haha. hmmm. thank God for choir prac on sat. at least there's something for me to do out of home.

but what's really exciting is that everytime you come home, there's some sorta quietness and cosy-ness. yepps. something relaxing finally. haha. relax too long and ya as i've mentioned, it gets boring.

haha.
but i'm sure gonna look forward to my own apartment
in the future.
get an apartment. get a car.
get a dog (german shepherd)
GET A LIFE.
before enslaving myself once again to love.
wahahha.

experiences of pre-polling day

i guess this is one hell of an experience man. haha. from the half-day-because-of-polling-day thing to the volleyball matches played at ccab- whoo`

haah. it was damn cool lahx! being able to study at a polling centre for joo chiat grc. okay i must be sounding QUITE mad, but hey... which batch of students can actually be proud to say they had a half day because of the preparations for polling day tommorrow? haha. only we can lohx! haha. i really must be sounding mad. then again, i don't believe that i'm the only one out of dunno how many people from the instituitions all over the island who's affected by this thing who actually thinks this way; haha. now i am convinced i'm mad. haha

alrights. so when the whole school vacated the premises by 12pm, i figured only cherli, muzzy and i were the last to leave the compounds and because it was raining (wasnt drizzling hor) we took out umbrellas and obviously used them. haha. i sound like some yuting-sorta-bimbo. hah. then on our way out we saw some army personnel as in they were in their green uniform (dunno why also: its not as if they have to camouflage or something in vjc where none of the walls are green) walking in the rain carrying poles. well that really brought out the true meaning of POLLING day huh. lolx. hmm, so i was commenting to the other two how idiotic we must look carrying umbrellas while walking out in the rain- i mean we're entering ns soon.. so... heck! since we're not in yet, enjoy the carefree tai-tai life now! haha.

well then, i had to take a solo journey to bukit timah on 48 and it was really tough trying to act cool as if you know where you're going especially just when you've entered the bukit timah region. haha. so funny lahx. act cool already, then you start to feel a bit uneasy: scared you miss you stop or something. in the end cs flagged the bus to stop it so taht i can get down. haha. so no meaning lahx.

had macs and encountered an air raid. a bee-raid actually. some girls from some school there were screaming and shouting, one even ducked under the table and made quite a big hoo-ha over some big bee. haha. was damn funny lahx. where the bee was, the girls didn't dare go. so when the bee was at the door, those who were trying to escape the air raid were forced to stay indoors and continue screaming. lol. damn funny.

volleyball matches were damn good- vjc vballers: you guys totally rock and own! haha. the match was exciting, so it wasn't exactly a sleep through- ownage match. it was really quite exciting. ahah. ahhh.. i love vball since sec sch. hah. well in the end we won both games! Guys (vjc- ijc) >> 2-0; Girls (vjc- sajc) >> 2-0. wheeee~ yay. we're on the way to the finals! well done!

well, i'm off elastics for now.
congrats darren.

everybody into labour positions now.

PUSH!

to whoever it is for:
happy labour day.

Saturday, April 29, 2006

have got lots to blog about today, so here goes:

firstly, well done table tennis girls! we're proud of you and i'm really proud of you. (i sound like some teacher or something) well for the simple fact that you guys gave it your all, and despite a strong opposition team, you girls fared well and played to your capabilities! well, all i can say is never give up ~ NIL SINE LABORE.

secondly, after the match, atiqah, chiew shan, cam, chin chong and i went out to ljs to have a meal or two. ha. my teriyaki sauce was absolutely gross, but hey! what can you do if you're super duper hungry and you don't want your old gastric problem to recur right? yepps, so gobbled that down and went back to school to get my last-minute drama night ticket at ten bux. more of that later. what's more chronologically more important is that i went to cut my hair today and now i look as if some cow bit my hair off or something. haha. i mean the cut's fine, but a bit the short ah! *thanksa) francis commented that i look cuter now and i caught him with some guy tracker on the bus. `HELP. *jkjk

so more on drama night now. hmmm, felt black comedy was good and to see my primary school classmate/ vs schoolmate darrel act like that was woah. never knew he could do that man - not like the quiet reserved boy i knew back in primary school or even during the good ol' days of vs. wheee. well done darrel. was a good play but what i really enjoyed was the play of light and dark. it started off a bit slow, but slowly (literally) people started to notice what was happening actually and ya! i totally enjoyed it, and the idea of the light thing: was awesome; fantastic! the second play was a bit melodramatic with a sudden abrupt twist. what i liked were the acting of the trees and the script. there was so much potential to the entire thing and what i felt was lacking was the build up to a climax which could have made the sad scene drama mama and really saddening. hmm.. but overall i think the 2 plays were eye-catching and well done. kudos to vactors!

fourthly, thanks to the cheap taxi drivers who wanted to wait till 11pm then they'd send people home, i reached home at 11.30pm when i could have probably reached home at 11. wth. seriously, we waited like 45mins for a single cab and some people in front of us would just want to grab that precious cab away from us. in the end, we resorted to primary transport: bus. in total, karfu zihua and i missed a total of nearly 5 bus 36s, and my dearest cousin darel had to miss like countless buses back to bedok. wth. thanks a lot man cab drivers. you guys rock. take that literally and seriously at the same time. tell me bout efficiency in the taxis industry.

well then, i better end here and start my photoshop for the programme booklet for sov.
ah

the onset of nafa and wat not

nafa is coming in bout 2 weeks time, and boy am i so prepared for it. bah! standing broad jump has never been better and my run timing is like sai, argh. guess i just might go into ns early as much as i don't want to. gah.

i better start training soon. actually, i should start training tonight. then again, i just had pe today, so i guess i'll start tomorrow. haha. wait, i've got thrid period pe tomorrow, so yet another delay. lolx. wed start then. but wed got choir prac, how? ahhaha. dunno lahx. i just gotta start REAL SOON.

on the lighter side of things, i'm adding this blog entry during gp lesson now. haha. how exciting. okay lahx, nothing exciting bout it. haha. i must be going mad today. supposed to research on science and technology, then again blogging is also part of research what. "how do blogs work" or "how does the computer do so many wonders". haha. whatever man. i'm delaing with science and technology now, so i just would consider that part of research. haha. who cares? the 2 of them in front doing some interview for the final year testimonial. haha. guess mine won't come that soon, hmmm.. how would i noe then again?

haha.
phototaking later!

back in singapore/ back to work.

~AHHHH!

(screams thereafter)

after a few days in italy having fun and bringing back glory to the nation and the choir, reality hits me and hey hey hey! i'm back in school- wth. haha. catching up is really really difficult. and boy can you trust me when i say that. ask anybody in choir now and they'd probably slap your asses with their tightly clenched fists and send you running home to mummy. i'm serious.

(everybody nods)

see? what did i tell you? everybody agrees. all the finding out who kept the notes for you and the borrowing of notes from friends to copy from and not to mention the copying itself is simply sickening. omgosh. you have no idea how much we have to copy. i mean in one lecture, you guys probably finish like 6- 7 pages (i'm referring to the good and fast lecturers here). so using simple mathematics, if you have missed 4 lectures (yes, i'm discriminating against the S paper people) then you probably have to copy about 24- 28 pages of lecture notes. that's equivalent to like half of chemical bonding lecture notes. hold on, that's making it sound easy. but who cares, you get the point don't you?

(everybody nods and claps)

thank you thank you.

(waves hands to stop the clapping)

gah. it's simply sickening. and besides, the jet lag and the time differences didn't exactly help at all. moreover, the time we spent on the flight back pretty much screwed up our internal body clock that faithfully tells us what time to wake up every morning since secondary school or something. thank you flight. gah. irritating. while i have been getting reports at the start of the week of people sleeping openly in classes, i personally have not. thank you thank you. but i was a living walking zombie in the morning, but the same old retarded siao kia me in the afternoon. weird eh?

(gasps in horror)

relax. nothing's wrong. ha. i guess we're all fine now...

(claps for encouragement)

but we still have to catch up with tutorials and copy somemore lecture notes.

(boo sama dia!)

so for now, gonna change > go out for dinner > come back and bathe > do work!
thank you thank you!

(everybody gives a standing ovation)

(on the way out, everybody pats darren's head and say "Good Lad!")

~i'm super full of crap these few days.

Riva del Garda International Choir Competition 2006

WHEEEEEE! you know, as i type this, emotions run high and memories start to fill my mind of the endless experiences with the VICTORIA JUNIOR COLLGE CHOIR during this international choir competition at Riva del Garda, Italy. wheee.

ok. the results!
Category S (Musica Sacra): 6th
Category G3 (Mixed Youth Open): 1st
Audience Prize
Grand Finals: Champions !

you have absolutely no idea how euphoric we were at the results lohx. actually to be more accurate, we were already filling good when people gave us standing ovations and double clappings for us at both teh Grand Finals and the Mixed Youth Open. it was such a stunning experience to see that people sitting in that hall were touched and simply enjoying the music that we make. the sound that we produce was heavenly, well it sounded like that at least from where i was standing at.

alrights, now details for the individual categories. lets start with the Musica Sacra. i can still remember the tensions and the atmosphere when we were in that small holding room which could probably only fit only bout 45-60 people? ha. anyway, all 69 of us were in there excluding Mr Kwei, the teachers and the tour guides. omgosh. everybody was just so... TENSE. haha. practised confitemini there and i guess everybody was feeling better after listening to ourselves. yeah. haha. after that, we had a short prayer session where all the Christians and the Catholics joined hands and just prayed. to me, somehow that just bonded us in some way? i dunno man. haha. obviously there were all the hugging and the encouraging words and all, it was just great to see everybody united as one body. then it was our turn to sing. waiting at the entrance of the church in the slight drizzle was cold lohx. i mean imagine the temperature there without rain and wind was about 10degrees already. so plus the rain and the wind, it was freezing expecially for the girls in their gowns and nothing underneath (okay, this part i dunno) but we adapted by having group hugs with the girls in the middle and the guys on the outside. haha. since the guys had their blazers on, so to some extent we were more protected than the girls lahx. haha. okay. our turn soon came, and we walked in with that bright smile on our faces. whoo! this was it guys! hah. standing at the altar and facing the jury who were in the middle of the church was an awesome sight. i mean the entire church was pretty much dimly lit, so the only bright lights that you could see were the lights placed on the jury's table. was damn cool. will upload the pics soon i guess. haha. thank the heavens we remembered every single detail of the song and all. thank God for that. every song was heavenly partly because of the resonance and the reverbarations off the stone church walls. it was jsut beautiful lohx. hear my prayer was a personal prayer for me, wheread confitemini was amazingly beautiful. could picture all the angels and the heavenly hosts dancing and playing the instruments of praise as we sang. beautiful. went out feeling good and yeah. that was that

then the next competition for us was the Mixed Youth Open (G3). everybody were tense, i could feel the vibes. it was woah! haha. especially when the night before we had our public concert and we pretty much screwed the songs up. so i guess we were pretty afraid that we might make the same mistakes again. but i guess when we walked up that stage, for me the smiles on each person's face somehow lightened my load and somehow encouraged me, yeah. factum was fine. shower somehow resonated through the dry hall . zhuliguan impressed everbody and pamugun just ended our performance with such a bang! in fact, after we sang the hall gave us a standing ovation and it was jsut encouraging that while we did our best on stage, the people who gave their utmost attention to us enjoyed our singing. and frankly, as a performer for 6 years such an ovation is all that you want. the results no longer matter. it was enough. obviously considering that we practised bin-nam-ma and ashita for ages, dun perform and show what we have to offer, a bit the wasted ah>> so we were praying for the best lohx.

well. the best came. haha. prepared for the grand finals and it was just another amazing experience altogether. we were the sixth choir to perform and yea, while we waited, we could actually sit in and listen to the other competing choirs sing their pieces. it was little wonder that these choirs topped their category. amazing sound and beautiful voices. especially the choir right after us and the last choir. amazing amazing. okay. now for our performance. we went up on stage, and immediately people started making wolf calls and all that sorta thing for us. it somehow made me feel like some star. lolx. then again, all of us were to be able to make it thus far. we sang ashita whcih was okay lahx. i felt bin-nam-ma was better, but mr kwei felt ashita was better. haha. i dunno man. the pro speaks. haha. okay, then it was bin nam ma. WHEEEEEE! so exciting lahx. all the choreo that we practised like sai all came to pass lohx and even better, we did it all together and there was not time lapse in between lohx. haha. i mean i watched the recording and it was like that. haha. i really really loved the last part where the sound just resonated really far into the relatively dry hall. whoo! and after we sang, the ENTIRE HALL gave us a standing ovation. it was just an amazing feeling deep down inside and yea, i just felt like some superstar. i felt proud to be part of this choir, of this school, and simply to be a singaporean. it was amazing lahx. they stood for us, and i guess that lasted at least 3 minutes. jsut clapping and screaming from the audience. haha. then it died down. then as we walked off the stage, they clapped for us again. whoah! damn power-packed lahx.

then the results show. haha. they started by giving out the individual prizes to all the participating choir first, so whenever we heard our name, we just started roaring! haha. literally. lolx. then came the audience prize. haha. WE WON IT! haha. so exciting. okay, to explain what the audience prize is all about. its simply just a prize for the choir that impressed the most people ie. the most popular choir. lolx. wheeee. then we all got abit scared. cause we thought if we had won the audience prize, it was something like the runner-up prize or something y'all know? haha. so we were damn scared we didn't win the grand prize. haha. then the results came. the emcee went "and the grand prize winner is... and the grand prize winner is... the... Do you really want to know? (shouts and screams by us here) the grand prize winner is... the VICTORIA JUNIOR COLLEGE CHOIR!" by the time we heard vic-, we all just stood up and screamed lahx. wahlau. nobody ever imagined that we could actually win the top prize of an international competition. it was just WOW. what can i say man? we jsut rock! then we ran up on stage to collect our prize which was a HUGE trophy. haha. whaoh!

we have fulfilled Psalm 150

Thursday, April 06, 2006

flying off really really soon.

wah lau eh! today so fast come today lohx! haha. talk no meaning and no sense here. haha. possibly because it's drawing nigh to departure time. "Great is thy faithfulness"- beautiful song that i'm listening to now.. and so here i am sitting before the computer which i may not get to use and probably see in the next 11days when i'm away. argh, who knows how backward the italian hotels can be? i mean i shan't compare them to singaporean hotels, but yea. haha. am i being nationalistic here? national day not here yet. wait, i shall save up such passion for the nation till nineaugust then. lolx.

to think that i'll be leaving soon in about 6hours time, i'll be in the skies with those lovely fluffy clouds (i'm really sounding like yuting. *bleaghs*). haha. its quite an exciting you know? haha. i mean its not an everyday thing that you get to go overseas with your 'family' during school term right? haha. something that i guess the sports people and the councillors wouldn't really understand. lolx. so exciting. this is so super uber exciting lahx. wheeeeee~

and there's some soccer match taking place at mj now, mj-aj soccer match i guess. hmm, can already predict who the winner would be lohx. argh. but still, kudos to both teams. haha. this is so irrevelant to the topic of flying to some exotic place. haha. but the fact is beacuse they are having a match there, there are people from 2 colleges there supporting their school team. and when i leave for the airport, i'd have to walk down to the bus stop there to hail a cab. that means i'd have to lug my luggage down to the bus stop swarmed of SMELLY people and relatiively normal people. i mean its not an everyday thing that you see a kid (hey, i'm still a small boy) pulling a luggage along the pavements right? haha. so i guess to prevent me being such a cuckoo-looking boy, i have already called my mum to pick me up. lolx. just a glimpse into the private life of a celebrity. cannot be in the presence of smelly people and not forgetting that you still have to look EXTREMELY GLAM. haha. just that there are no paparazzi below my house... and i thought i could be some tom hanks. hah.

woah! time really flies lohx. i mean it seemed like yesterday when my mind jsut brought me back to first three months of 2006 when all the newbies year ones all stood so newbie-ly in front, and the seniors stood like some disciplinarians at the back. haha. but i guess they never got see that side of us, probably because we don't even have that side of us. hah. talking quite of no meaning stuff here first hor, i warn you ah.. dun tell me later the entry no meaning. nah- tell you already ah?

then my mind brought me back to pre-syf days when the then newbie us stood like noobs in front and the zai3 seniors at the back- totally bully us lahx. haha. but time really flies lahx. from one local competition [or festival which daniel claims it to be] to an international one in less than a year... woah, time must have really flown by. hah . dunno why, i'm having this picture of airpork in my head now. wth.

lolx. but i guess all's been going well with choir and all, and yea. my job as GAM- omgosh, adrian: now i understand why you can flare up so easily at times. i can so understand now. the settling of the scores (okay lahx, this one not say very difficult), choir uniform and then finally the college blazers... ohmygosh. i wanna scream lahx just now. haha. super irritated with everything. aiyoh. but i guess i'm alright now ya? i think so, i hope so.

flying off tomorrow... wonder how the flight will be. praying that the plane will have PERSONAL TV SCREENS, if not i'd just bore myself over the inflight magazines which they claim is fun and interactive. ohmygoodness- *slaps forehead*. haha. will be so fun. but i guess this trip will not just be fun, will be super tiring for the nominees and super worrying at times i guess for the leaders. aiyoh. 加油!

Crediamo!

Sunday, April 02, 2006

woah! its just four days to ee-tah-leee! wheeeeee~ hahaha. so exciting. to think that we've come four months into the year, and we are now just four days to italy! and i just realised we can count the number of days ot italy with one hand. haha. fine- i'm bimbo. lolx. wat a self-confirmation. hahah. hahah. mad le, mad le. cannot stop laughing. if i stop, i'll probably konk out on my bed lahx- shit. cause i need to do my tutorials! ARGH! how nice. don't wanna bring any unfinisehd work over o italy, cause once you come back, it starts to haunt you like a big pile of sai lahx. dun wan that to happen ya? so might as well do the final chionging these three days ya> hah. then slack like mad (in terms of studies lahx, wat else? slack in singing: might as well just chop your head off lahx. practise so hard, just to go there and slack... aiyoh. slap you a thousand times sia) for 9days, then come back to college with GOOD RESULTS!

MY PRECIOUSSSS -
GRAND PRIZE, YOU'RE MINE!
